Programme Overview
This course is formerly known as ADT049: Professional Conduct and Ethics in An Audit.


Programme Objective

To provide audit professionals with guidance on, and how to comply with, the ISCA Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics (“the Code”). This course will also cover practical guidance on how to apply the Code’s Ethical Conflict Resolution framework in situations where the auditor faces ethical dilemmas in an audit engagement.
 

Programme Outline

  • Understanding the provisions of the ISCA Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics with regard to an audit of financial statements.
  • Identifying circumstances that require the application of the Code’s fundamental principles to conflict resolution.
  • Applying the Code’s Ethical Conflict Resolution framework to ethical dilemmas (a hands-on ethical dilemma case for analysis and discussion is recommended).

Intended For

A Foundation level programme intended for Audit professionals. Senior Audit professionals who like to grasp a good understanding of complying with the code of ethics in audit engagements are welcome to attend.

1] NTUC Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)
UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme) is an individual skills upgrading account for NTUC members. NTUC member gets to enjoy UTAP funding 50% of the unfunded course fee capped at $250 every year. This excludes miscellaneous fees such as GST and registration fee etc.
 
This course is approved for UTAP support for intakes conducted between 01 April 2019 – 31 March 2020.
 
As UTAP is given on calendar year basis, and calculated based on year of training taken, it cannot be accumulated.

  • Maintained paid-up NTUC membership before course, throughout course duration and at the point of claim and;
  • Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP and training must commence within the supported period and;
  • Unfunded course fee must not be fully sponsored by company or other types of funding
  • Unfunded course fee must be S$20.00 and above, and;
  • Member must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any and;
  • UTAP application must be made within 6 months after course ends.

Daniel holds an Honours degree in Accountancy from the National University of Singapore and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He has more than 13 years of experience in the accounting profession, having worked for one of the Big 4 accounting firms both in Singapore and in the United Kingdom. He has also more than 5 years of senior management experience with multi-national corporations, managing their operations in Singapore and Asia.
 
Daniel has served as an adjunct Associate Professor in the department of accounting at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
 
Mr Chee was formerly a committee member of both the IT Committee and the Examination Committee of ISCA, and was also a committee member of the Disciplinary Sub-Committee of Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
