Programme Objective

The seminar provides guidance to help participants prepare financial statements using key Financial Reporting Standards (FRS). The primary emphasis of this seminar is to focus on existing financial reporting standards that are widely applicable to a broad spectrum of industries.

In addition, the seminar also examines the practical issues and challenges associated with the relatively more complex topics on comprehensive income, impairment of assets, accounting for business combinations, consolidated financial statements and accounting for financial instruments and derivatives.

Programme Outline

Preparing Financial Statements using key Financial Reporting Standards (FRS):

·         FRS 1 – Presentation of Financial Statements

·         FRS 2 – Inventories

·         FRS 16 – Property, Plant and Equipment

·         FRS 23 – Borrowing Costs

·         FRS 24 – Related Party Disclosures

·         FRS 36 – Impairment of Assets

·         FRS 39 – Financial Instruments: recognition and measurement

·         FRS 103 – Business Combinations

·         FRS 109 – Financial Instruments

·         FRS 110 – Consolidated Financial Statements

 

Pre-requisites

Please take note of the following admission requirements:

  • Trainings will be conducted on Zoom platform, thus video camera and microphone are compulsory
  • Mandatory for video camera to be turned on throughout the course
  • Display your official name (as per NRIC) in Zoom, to facilitate attendance taking
