The course will combine demonstrations and hands-on exercises to perform business analytics.

- Understand how data and analytics are disrupting existing business models and why business analytics is important (to accountants/accountancy).
- Appreciate the 4 types of business analytics (Descriptive, Diagnostic, Predictive, and Prescriptive) and their applications to managing business performance.
- Identify performance drivers through business analytics and integrating them with actual business performance.
- Explore data to find new patterns and relationships using a self-service analytics platform.
- Discuss real-world examples, advantages and challenges presented by business analytics (to accountants/accountancy).

Kia Meng is a training solutionist, and technology evangelist in the data analytics space with more than ten years' experience in financial business partnering; implementing solutions through collaboration with clients and stakeholders. He has proven ability to leverage technology and deliver impactful data-driven outcomes. He founded Databuilder Pte. Ltd. to focus on helping clients to adopt data analytics solutions in their businesses, as well as offering training on data science and business analytics topics.
Kia Meng holds the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) from Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) Singapore, and he is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore. He has conducted regional training for corporate clients spanning ASEAN countries and Japan, which included participants from various nationalities.
Kia Meng is passionate about blended learning models and designing digital instructional media for clients and has created e-Learning modules in Chinese for Panasonic China before. He also facilitates workshops on Big Data topics at the NTU Alumni Club where he volunteers.
