Programme Objective
 

The European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018. It affects all organizations established outside of EU, as long as the organization:

  • offers goods or services to individuals in the EU irrespective of whether a payment is required; or
  • monitors the behaviour of individuals within the EU.
  • Non-compliance may result in suspension of data processing and fines of up to 4% of a company’s worldwide annual turnover or €20 million, whichever is greater.

This course aims to provide a good overview and understanding of the GDPR and describe practical applications for companies to be compliant. It will also cover the potential challenges of GDPR compliance and suggest practical ways to overcome them.

  • Potential challenges and issues of GDPR implementation/compliance and practical ways to manage those challenges
