Programme Objective
 
The ability to think on your feet and speak clearly and convincingly marks you out as a leader, influencer and communicator. This interactive workshop aims to develop learners’ ability to think and present on their feet. You will learn to think creatively, develop clear messages, and deliver them confidently in quick time without notes. You will also be able to polish your speech by improving diction and enunciation.

By the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:

·         Structure thoughts, ideas and information rapidly while speaking 

·         Develop a clear and compelling message for listeners

·         Present a message convincingly without notes

·         Speak clearly and confidently with clear diction and pronunciation

Deliver Impromptu Presentations

  • Successful impromptu speaking
  • Thinking fast on your feet
  • Impromptu presentation structures


Develop a Compelling Message

  • Three-part plans
  • Asking key planning questions
  • What’s the big idea?

 Deliver with Confidence

  • Verbal and nonverbal delivery
  • Projecting credibility and confidence


Speak with Polish

  • Clear speech: articulation, pronunciation
  • Diction: phonetics, vowels, consonants
  • Fluent speech — intonation, stress patterns


Pre-requisites

Please take note of the following admission requirements:

  • Trainings will be conducted on Zoom platform, thus video camera and microphone are compulsory
  • Mandatory for video camera to be turned on throughout the course
  • Display your official name (as per NRIC) in Zoom, to facilitate attendance taking

 Active, learner-centred training using a wide variety of interactive and communicative activities: role-play, speech & voice work, mock presentations, peer feedback, self-reflection
