Programme ObjectiveIt is often said that businesses are increasingly expected to support ethical behaviour and uphold ethical standards. However, the challenge for many organisations is what constitutes ethical behaviour and how to define ethical standards. Does your company provide you with any such education on ethics by the way? In addition, some suggest that ethical and social performance can facilitate overall organisational performance. This means that effective business leaders and managers must acknowledge that sustainable profitable growth for their companies is not possible without considering the needs and demands of broader society on a broader range of ethical and social issues. However, do you know exactly how to define the scope of these expected social standards? Are we applying the same social standards globally by the way?Recall the last time you were caught in an ethical dilemma and you tried to resolve it. Did you know why you made the decision in a particular way? Did you regret from making that decision after all? Why? If you were to encounter the same ethical dilemma again, would you have made the decision differently? Why? Experience shows that our decision making process depends on our type personality which is born with us. This is why in this 1-day workshop, participants will first have the opportunity to “get to know themselves better” through the use of one of the most popular personality profiling tools - the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (“MBTI ®”) Instrument. The MBTI instrument based on the work developed by Carl Jung (a Swiss psychiatrist) helps to explain how one gathers information from the outer world and how one makes decision on the basis of the information gathered. The second half of the workshop aims to provide a framework for ethical dilemma discussion whereby participants will take part in practical case studies.A number of past participants found that the discussion of the MBTI® Instrument provided them with the first step of understanding their Type Profile and helped them to be aware of the way they make decision whenever they are caught in any ethical dilemma. Some past participants also found it useful and relevant in terms of the sharing of perspectives by the others as it provided them with an invaluable insight on how to resolving certain ethical dilemma differently. The entire workshop is full of group activities and small exercises for you. Be prepared to come to the workshop to stretch yourself and widen your horizon on ethical dilemmas and ethical issues!
