Looking to improve your financial modelling skills?
Are you frustrated with the non-stop request of information and reports?
Do you then want to learn how to effectively present financial reports using Excel?

As business environment gets tough, business leaders demand even quicker analysis and recommendation from finance leaders in supporting their decision making.  However, most accountants or finance managers are too focused on day-to-day statutory compliance needs and have not spent enough time sharpening their Excel skills and understanding business needs to effectively support the making of important business decisions.  This becomes a frustrating factor for both decision makers as well as the accountants themselves.

This course aims to equip you with the necessary Excel skills and finance leadership mindset in building 6 different financial models that are commonly required in most businesses, allowing you to effectively present, discuss and support your management with useful, interactive and quick what-if analysis during meetings and discussions.

  • Creatively integrate various Excel functions to achieve the desired results 
  • Understand how to use the Excel smartly

PRE-REQUISITE 

  • Must possess at least: Intermediate Excel & Basic Financial Knowledge
  • This course is an extension of IT037: Financial Modelling & Analysis. Completion of IT037 prior to this course is recommended, but not compulsory.

Model 1: Building Quick What-If Dashboard Model for Projection with Macros 
Learn to create What-If Dashboard with buttons, charts and macros, allowing one click changes and analysis to support better management decision making.

Model 2: Creative Macros Applications
Learn to create buttons and record simple macros to allow automatic update from the current to the year-to-date column and at the same time creating a tracking number.

Model 3: 3 Dimensions Financial Reporting Model with Chart I 
Participants will learn to build a model that allows flexibility to display results from 3 dimensions: different periods, different items of expenses and the sequence of companies.

Model 4: Interactive Financial Reporting Model with Chart II 
Participants will learn to build a model that extracts data from different databases with a click of macros button, dynamically updating the data table and presenting the results in different charts format.

Model 5: Financial Feasibility Study Model 
Participants will learn to use data commonly available in business to generate the Profit & Loss study and ROI calculations. Participant will also understand the way to effectively link the worksheets for easy changes and reference.

Model 6: One Click Interactive Progress Billing Forecast Model 
Participants will learn to build simple Cash Flow Forecast Model with one click interactive button, allowing changes to the monthly cashflow movements.

Pre-requisites

Please take note of the following admission requirements:

  • Trainings will be conducted on Zoom platform, thus video camera and microphone are compulsory
  • Mandatory for video camera to be turned on throughout the course
  • Display your official name (as per NRIC) in Zoom, to facilitate attendance taking
