Programme Objective

As the saying goes, “First Impression Counts”. In an increasingly complex world, knowing how to present ourselves is no longer just important but rather an essential skill to master. During this course, critical transferrable skills such as packaging one’s brand via resume and cover letter writing and presenting oneself with finesse via interview skills would be taught to participants.

Participants would be taught how to craft impactful resumes using the STAR method and action words with best practice formatting for maximum impact and easy readability. Additionally, participants would be guided through the preparation of personalised cover letter using the AIDA method along with management of dressing and non-verbal cues.
 

Programme Outline

  • Identification of knowledge, skills and attributes (KSAs) in job descriptions
  • Crafting effective resumes using the STAR method and action words.
  • Formatting of resumes for maximum impact and readability
  • Cover Letter preparation using the AIDA principle
  • Interview preparation and organisational research
  • Analysis and understanding of various interview formats; including hybrid and virtual interviews
  • Creation of positive first impression through professional dressing 
  • Management of body language and non-verbal cues. Learning to exude positive non-verbal language
