In this current climate of Covid 19, economic uncertainty and job losses, many people are facing stressful situations at work and at home every day. Whether you are a working adult feeling barraged with a never-ending to-do list at the office and at home, or a professional who is facing a multitude of challenges, it can seem like there is nothing you can do about stress when you are stuck in a rut. It is common for people to feel overwhelmed and hopeless.

In this talk, Dr Tan will discuss how to recognise the early signs and symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression and share tips on various effective coping strategies. She will also elaborate how mindfulness can help you be calmer and more resilient in facing the different challenged at work and at home. Dr Tan will share how to best take care of your emotional and mental wellbeing.

Dr Tan will also touch on the various resources available and when you need to seek professional help. You can look forward to being more resilient, confident and adept at navigating your emotional landscape after this talk.

Dr Tan E-Ching is the founding Director of Hallmark Health, a mental wellness and holistic health centre that specializes in counselling and conducting youth and adult training programmes focusing on Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness, Resilience and Empathy.

Dr Tan is deeply passionate about imparting the tools of resilience and mindfulness to the younger generation. In her 20 years as a Senior Family Physician in a group medical practice, she observed a rising trend of mental health problems like anxiety and depression in all age groups, particularly among youths.

Dr Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore Medical Faculty in 1994. She is an experienced mindfulness practitioner for many years and has received training in internationally recognized mindfulness and emotional intelligence programmes.

Dr Tan is a leader and facilitator in the Singapore Youth Mental Wellbeing initiative and sits on the committee of Melrose Care, Children’s Aid Society, a philanthropic organization supporting disadvantaged children and families. In addition, Dr Tan has been a volunteer for the last 20 years at St. John’s Singapore, a non-profit organization providing first-aid, life support and youth development.
