Programme Objective

The Young Accountants Mentorship Programme is a new initiative designed to pair graduating and fresh accounting graduates (mentees) with young working professionals with minimum 5 years of experience (mentors) to help guide and inspire them to realise their potential in their careers. Through this one-on-one mentoring programme, mentees can benefit from the insights of diverse accounting career option(s), different perspectives on work-related challenges and having an additional sounding board for ideas and career-related decisions.

Are you a graduating or fresh accounting graduate with aspirations to develop your career in the finance and accounting industry? Are you looking forward to hearing real-life experiences and receiving advice from a more experienced finance professional? Do you need support as you embark on your Singapore CA Qualification journey?

Participate as a mentee to:

  • Connect and engage with a working accounting professional from diverse backgrounds and industries
  • Gain insights on required skill sets for career development 
  • Receive support and advice on development goals, both professionally and career related
  • Establish a lifelong professional relationship with fellow accountants 
  • Earn CPE hours on the consultation with your assigned mentor

Programme Outline

Duration
  • The run will begin in December 2021
  • It will run for a period of 6 months
Programme FormatISCA will conduct 2 networking sessions for the programme
  • Opening session including an introduction session by mentors and mentees
  • Closing networking session

16 December 2021 – Virtual
  • Each mentor will be matched to one mentee according to each party’s suitability and stated objectives during the matching process
  • Kick-off Young Accountants Mentorship Programme 2021/2022 with a virtual get-together session for mentors and mentees to align key objectives and expectations

18 May 2022 – TBC
  • Closing networking session

Throughout the mentorship period
  • Each mentor and mentee pair can arrange to meet at their own discretion. It is recommended that the pair meets about 3 – 6 times over the entre run
  • After the closing session, the mentor and mentee pair may decide, on their own accord, whether to continue with their mentoring relationship
  • All information provided in your application will be strictly confidential and shared only with the successfully matched mentor
Programme Fees$50.00 (exclusive of GST) for ISCA Members; and
$65.00 (exclusive of GST) for Non-Members
