Programme Objective

Digital transformation and intelligent automation (IA) have been in the limelight in recent years. Many companies have in fact had to consider adopting digital solutions extremely quickly during the pandemic to cope with disruptions to business operations and lockdowns. Just as the other facets of business, the Finance function has been impacted by adoption of these technologies. But what has changed? What needs to evolve? Is a finance function augmented by IA a cornerstone of a trusted and sustainable business? How can an organisation leverage IA to gain a competitive advantage?

To uncover these questions, ISCA, AI Singapore and NUS Business School carried out a research project to identify the specific Finance functions that IA has been implemented in. The study also uncovered the challenges faced by companies when adopting IA, as well as the reasons that deter organisations from adopting IA. It also explores the benefits of implementing IA solutions, the associated costs (both tangible and intangible), the importance of upskilling and training for Finance employees, particularly those who are directly affected by IA adoption, and what the C-suite needs to consider before, during and after implementation.
