Programme ObjectiveThis course explains and illustrates some advanced level issues in consolidation, with primary focus on changes in ownership interests, with and without change in control and multi-level consolidation. The relevant principles and requirements of FRS 110 Consolidated Financial Statements and FRS 103 Business Combinations which relate to these advanced level issues will be highlighted during the seminar. The course builds upon the participant’s understanding of basic consolidation principles.

Dr Pearl Tan
Dr Pearl Tan is an Associate Professor (Education) in Accounting at Singapore Management University (SMU). Dr Tan has won a number of teaching awards in SMU and also in Nanyang Technological University, where she previously taught. Dr Tan also conducts seminars for professional and government bodies, major companies and auditing firms. Dr Tan has an active interest in the development of accounting standards and provides feedback to policy-making bodies. She has co-authored two books on IFRSs hat are used by a number of Asian universities.
Dr Tan had served as a member of the Advisory Committee for Accounting Standards for Statutory Boards, and the Financial Reporting Committee of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. She was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2015.
