Insights on Sustainability (ESG) Reporting Requirements
Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It covers a wide range of topics, spanning environment, social and governance parameters.

The profile of this topic has increased significantly, and in the absence of global standards, individual jurisdictions are beginning to develop their own requirements, increasing the risks of inconsistency. Global standards are therefore necessary to enhance comparability and drive a high level of reporting for public sector entities globally.

This session will cover the IPSASB’s response to the growing demands from its stakeholders to develop global sustainability reporting guidance for the public sector to contribute to delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing climate change.

Sharing on Sustainability Reporting – Beginner’s Guide
With increasing focus on Sustainability with the Green Plan 2030 by the Singapore government and Carbon Tax increases, Sustainability has been gaining traction in Singapore as well as around the world.

From 2018/19, SGX required all public listed companies to “comply or explain” on Sustainability Reporting.  Many companies struggled to do so and the responsibility fell on many CFOs as part of Annual reporting.  It has been several years since and standards remain disparate and reporting is varied.

This session is a simple preparer’s sharing on how to start and what a CFO should look out for when beginning to do Sustainability Reporting. In this session, we will address questions such as:

  • Who should champion;
  • What standards are out there and which to follow;
  • What data to gather and how to gather;
  • Transparency and Confidentiality; and
  • Assurance.
