Please note that this is a recording of the Live Session held on 24 May 2022.
Programme Outline
24 February 2022 marked the first day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. During the past few months, the war in Ukraine has further aggravated rising commodity prices, fluctuations in foreign currency rates and supply chain disruptions post Covid-19, among other repercussions. Numerous countries, including Singapore, have imposed sanctions on Russia and its related entities around the world.
While the war between these two countries continues to evolve, the pervasive uncertainties have implications on business continuity, liquidity and asset values in Russia and Ukraine, as well as other countries. Considering its broader impact on global macroeconomic conditions, there may be a need to consider the effect of the war on certain accounting and auditing matters.
Professional accountants should consider if the implications arising from the Russia-Ukraine war have been properly considered and disclosed in the financial statements, where relevant. This session aims to share the accounting and auditing considerations that professional accountants should be mindful of in their financial reporting and auditing processes
