The participants will learn about about the key themes from ICAEW and ISCA’s new report, Digital Transformation in Finance Functions: perspectives from the UK and ASEAN region, highlighting practical insights from the frontline of transformation projects, as well as deeper challenges for the profession.
 

Programme Outline


1. Disruptive technologies and accountancy

Key disruptive technologies – Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cyber and Data (‘ABCD’) – provide great opportunities for accountants to deliver greater value to businesses and clients. But these technologies also creates challenges for the profession, especially around the future of jobs and skills. They also create new ethical questions. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the ABCD technologies, outline practical experience in their use, and consider how the profession needs to adapt to maximise the benefits of technologies and stay relevant.

2. Digital transformation and finance functions in ASEAN

There are great opportunities for finance functions to improve their efficiency and support businesses more effectively through the use of new technologies such as data analytics and robotic process automation. However, digital transformation is proving to be a long journey for many in practice, with a range of challenges, as well as significant changes in skills and culture. This talk shares the key themes from ICAEW and ISCA’s new report, Digital transformation in finance functions: perspectives from the UK and ASEAN region, highlighting practical insights from the frontline of transformation projects, as well as deeper challenges for the profession.
