UTAP Funding

This full-day training program is tailored for participants who have prior experience using Tableau and are proficient in the following tasks:
- Connecting to data sources
- Navigating the Tableau interface
- Creating basic visualisations
- Using features such as filter usage, parameter controls, and calculated fields
- Creating a basic Tableau dashboard

Participants are encouraged to attend WD012 to obtain the basic proficient.

Laptop and Software Installation

This class places strong emphasis on hands-on learning to create visual analytics. To optimize the learning experience, it is mandatory for all participants to bring with them a laptop, pre-installed with the latest version of Tableau Public (https://public.tableau.com/en-us/s/download) and Microsoft Excel.

In today's data-driven world, the ability to navigate multiple data sources and transform them into actionable insights is invaluable. This course offers participants an opportunity to deepen their expertise in data analysis by using Tableau, a leading business intelligence tool. Participants will learn how to harness diverse data sources to enable them to perform sophisticated calculations, and design compelling visualisations and dashboards to support strategic decision-making processes.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this programme, participants will be able to:

  • Harness multiple data sources for comprehensive analysis;
  • Apply advanced calculations for precise data transformation;
  • Create advanced data visualisations using Tableau, including combo charts, bullet graphs, donut charts, slope graphs, and geomap; and
  • Design dynamic, interactive, and user-focused dashboards using Tableau to facilitate strategic decision making.

 

Training Methodology

Facilitated classroom learning. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises, interactive discussions, and real-world case studies to reinforce their learning and practical application of Tableau for advanced data analysis and visualisation

Funding

1] NTUC Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

NTUC members enjoy 50% *unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year, capped at 50% of unfunded course fees, for courses attended between 17 April 2024 to 31 December 2025.

*Unfunded course fee refers to the balance course fee payable after applicable government subsidies. This excludes material fees, registration fees, misc. fees etc.

This course is approved for UTAP support for intakes conducted between 03 April 2024 – 31 March 2025.

As UTAP is given on calendar year basis, and calculated based on year of training taken, it cannot be accumulated.

  • Maintained paid-up NTUC membership before course, throughout course duration and at the point of claim and;
  • Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP and training must commence within the supported period and;
  • Unfunded course fee must not be fully sponsored by company or other types of funding
  • Unfunded course fee must be S$20.00 and above, and;
  • Member must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any and;
  • UTAP application must be made within 6 months after course ends.
