Programme ObjectiveThis course is ideal for students and working adults who are preparing themselves for the SCAQ Examinations Module – Taxation (TX).
Upon completion of the Taxation (TX) module, candidates will be able to deal with the Singapore taxation issues that a general purpose accountant (ie an accountant other than one specialising in the provision of tax advice) is likely to encounter, such as income tax from self-employment; employment and investments; the corporation tax liability of individual companies and groups of companies; stamp duty; the goods and services tax liability of businesses; and the types of tax incentives available. Candidates should also be able to appreciate tax planning opportunities under domestic taxation laws. Candidates will also be expected to understand international taxation and comparative tax treatments for financial risk management. Yvonne is a Chartered Accountant of Singapore (CA), Accredited Tax Practitioner (Income tax) and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) who completed her Master in Taxation with Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) previously known as SIM University.
Having been in the teaching industry for more than 20 years, Yvonne has developed her unique diagrammatic approach to impart complex tax concepts which has helped many students in understanding the tax rules which are evolving in view of the changing tax environment.
