Programme Objective

Did you know that data-driven organisations are more likely to acquire and retain customers?

As a core pillar of strategic decision-making in the business world, data now plays an important role in providing insights into how companies can improve customer experiences and drive better business outcomes.

While data modelling and engineering fall within the scope of data scientists and/or data analysts, business leaders and managers also have a critical role to play in facilitating data-driven decision-making processes. They need to frame the problems and analyse the results to derive actionable insights and provide recommendations for the next steps that the business can take. Besides knowledge and understanding of data science, managers will need to synthesise these with the business aspect in order to address modern challenges brought about by digital transformation and the evolving business landscape.

This course addresses the common questions and uncertainties that business decision makers have when presented with analytics output. It equips learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to discern good analytics work from a poor one, so that they can help their organisations drive data-driven efforts more effectively.

Programme Outline

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the application of analytics across different domains.
  • Formulate business problems that can be solved using analytics.
  • Understand the basic processes involved in an end-to-end project.
  • Understand the benefits, risks and processes involved in implementing analytics projects.
  • Evaluate a project given the organisation’s analytics maturity.
