Programme Objective
With fundamental knowledge on ‘Project Management in Finance Transformation’, this course further explores and equips participants with knowledge to manage transformation with in-depth consideration for projects performance management. The course will help you gain insights on:
- How to measure the amount of work performed on a project beyond the basic review of cost and schedule reports
- Allocating and tracking project budgets to stay on top of financials
- Keeping all stakeholders and team members informed of project status, progress and changes made in real time.
- Tracking your projects through customisable KPI dashboards and making more informed decisions
As remote working and hybrid work arrangements require enhanced collaboration, the use of modern work management tools such as cloud project management software is increasingly important to allow project teams to stay on top of allocated tasks, projects, and access real-time KPIs dashboard reporting.
This course will use Smartsheet as the project management software for real-time review of projects to monitor status of project tasks, plan for upcoming milestones, and address red flags before they become issues
Programme Outline
Module 1 Setting Up Your Project and Developing Project Baseline in Smartsheet
- Learn to set up your project in Smartsheet
- Create forms for automating approvals for change requests
- Develop project baselines in providing reference points for comparison with actual project progress:
- Task status / health
- Start and finish dates
- Percentage completed and
- Other project variables
Module 2 Understanding Project Cost Estimates
- Understand the difference between project cost estimates and project budgets
- Learn to apply common forms of cost estimation techniques such as top-down and bottom-up costing
- Track project budget in Smartsheet
Module 3 Performance Measurement - Earned Value Analysis
- Understand Earned Value Analysis and how to effectively incorporate them into the monitoring and controlling phase of your projects.
- Track, calculate costs and review variance through earned value management such as Schedule Performance Index and Cost Performance Index.
Module 4 Project Dashboards and KPIs with Smartsheet
- Establish project KPIs
- Develop project dashboards in Smartsheet to track your plans, resources, and schedules.
Pre-requisites
Please take note of the following admission requirements:
- Trainings will be conducted on Zoom platform, thus video camera and microphone are compulsory
- Mandatory for video camera to be turned on throughout the course
- Display your official name (as per NRIC) in Zoom, to facilitate attendance taking
