Programme Objective

Participants will gain practical skills in the fundamentals of valuation, including considerations specific to infrastructure assets and the pricing of risks, which can support more informed decision-making. 

Programme Outline

Introduction to infrastructure project valuation  

  • Importance and purpose of valuation in infrastructure space 
  • Key characteristics of infrastructure assets 

Valuation methodologies  

  • Market approach: Comparative and market-based approaches 
  • Income approach: Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis 
  • Cost approach: Adjusted asset-based approach   

Case study: Basic DCF valuation  

  • Walkthrough of a simplified DCF model 
  • Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR)  
  • Sensitivity and scenario analysis 

Software Installation and Laptop

As this class places strong emphasis on the hands-on experience, you will be working with data for the majority of the time in the class. To optimize the learning experience, it is mandatory for all participants to be equipped with a laptop, pre-installed with Microsoft Excel 2010, 2013, 2016 (full licence) or any latest version.
