Programme Outline

At this conference, we recognise the importance of board diversity for corporate governance. While gender diversity is only one aspect of board diversity, it is an important and visible one. A diverse board brings different perspectives, experiences, and abilities. These elements create resilience against groupthink and enable organisations to better face challenges. It is also better aligned with the varied interests of stakeholders.

Gender diversity cannot and should not be forced. However, it is critical that organisations embrace diversity and promote inclusion, by being supportive of the different life stages of employees and putting in place programmes/policies to ensure that women remain competitive for senior management roles during their tenure of employment. This ultimately leads to a wider pipeline for women to take on board-level roles.
