This course is ideal for students and working adults who are preparing themselves for the SCAQ Examinations Module – Assurance (AS).
Programme Outline
Upon completion of the Assurance (AS) Module, candidates will be able to analyse, exercise judgment, evaluate and conclude on the assurance engagement, and other audit and assurance issues in the context of best practice and current developments in Singapore and internationally. The module addresses a wide variety of issues that a Chartered Accountant of Singapore may encounter. It develops the candidates' understanding of professional and ethical considerations as well as ensuring they have a broad understanding of the regulatory environment in Singapore. The module covers procedures in practice management, including quality control and the acceptance and retention of professional engagements; the audit of financial statements including planning, managing, evidence and review, as well as other assignments and reporting.
Be prepared to take the SCAQ Exam – Assurance (AS) after this course.

Mr Titus Kuan started out his career in a Big Four firm in Singapore which spanned 12 years including a 2-year secondment to London. During his career there, he was managing both assurance engagements and learning and development (L&D) function for the firm.
Subsequently, he assumed the technical and L&D director role in ISCA, and was responsible for technical advisory work covering Auditing, Assurance, FRS, Corporate Reporting and Ethics. He was also heading the CPE department focusing on members’ professional development.
Thereafter he spent 4 years in a mid-tier accounting firm in Singapore. He was the signing partner for companies in various industries and was also the technical director taking charge of the firm’s training program and provided technical advisory support to the firm. Currently he is an audit partner at PKF-CAP LLP.
He also trains externally for the Singapore CA Qualification program, ISCA CPE courses and is an adjunct lecturer at Singapore University of Social Sciences and Singapore Institute of Technology.
