Programme Objective

Critical thinking skill is relevant to life situations and business because it allows us to see beyond our own views and look at ideas and opinions of others. This 2-day programme intends to equip participants with concepts and practices to enhance one’s critical thinking and analytical skills so as to make better business decisions.

Programme Outline

The key areas that participants will be exposed to are:
1.  Develop a critical thinking mindset when dealing with business issues.
2.  Challenge and rethink ideas and provide insights to relevant stakeholders.
3.  Demonstrate problem solving skills within own scope of work.
4.  Analyse and report business issues and make recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
5.  Enhance creative thinking skills among team members

Training Methodology

Competency-based training, with a combination of instructional methods of lectures, discussions and assessments.

Assessment

Written assessments (open book) on both days.
(For those applying for WDA training grant, it's compulsory to complete all assessments)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Company must be registered or incorporated in Singapore and;
  • Applicant is taking the course for the first time.
  • Applicant must be employed, and is either Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore and;
  • Applicant must achieve at least 75% attendance, and pass all examinations /assessments and;
  • Applicant must be fully sponsored by the Company for all costs associated with the training and;
  • Payment has to be made via corporate means (e.g. corporate cheque, corporate GIRO, corporate credit card).


1b] Self-sponsored Individuals

2] SkillsFuture Credit (SFC)

Funding Period: Until 6 Mar 2021

All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500 from the government. The credits will not expire and periodic top-ups will be provided by the government. SFC may be accumulated to pay for skills related course fees. If you wish to enrol for the course with SFC Funding, please proceed with the following steps:

  • Step 1: Register for the course online via ISCA Portal. Upon adding to cart, the system will prompt a question “Do you wish to apply for SkillsFuture Credit?”, click “Yes” and input all required information. At the Cart page, please ensure that SFC funding is applied before clicking “Checkout”.
  • Step 2: After successful enrolment, please proceed to submit SFC claim on Skillsfuture Portal within 60 days before the course start date and obtain the necessary approval. Please submit SFC claim via SFC portal here: http://www.skillsfuture.sg/credit.

Ms Grace Tan has more than 30 years of experience in Human Resource Management & Development, having worked in the Hospitality, Real Estate, Financial, Healthcare and Retail industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore (NUS) and a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). In respect of the training and development domain, she also holds a Masters in Education from University of Sheffield, an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) and a Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE).

With her many years of corporate experience, Grace has also been engaged to help organizations in Organizational Development, Talent Management as well as developing and improving HR systems and processes to support organizational growth and change. She is experienced in developing and delivering training programs specifically in the areas of leadership, supervisory & change management, communications, customer service, coaching, performance management and team building. She is a Certified Extended DISC® Profiler and also conducts behavior profiling to assist organizations in their recruitment, talent management and development as well as team building effort.
