Programme Objective
"Digitally, Singapore is one of the most connected nations in the world... However, reliance on infocomm technologies also makes us vulnerable. Cyber threats and attacks are becoming more sophisticated, with more severe consequences. We cannot take cybersecurity for granted." (PM Lee Hsien Loong, in Singapore's Cybersecurity Strategy (Cyber Security Agency of Singapore).
 
This blended learning and experiential programme provides middle-senior management the understanding and application of the different aspects of cyber forensics and cybersecurity knowledge and skills.

Programme Outline

The following areas will be covered:

  1. Interpret the Singapore’s Cybersecurity Strategy (from CSA). This is with reference to the national level cyber security strategy from the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore.
  2. Explain the basics of Cybersecurity and Cyber Forensics.
  3. Illustrate the interlink between Cybersecurity, Cyber Forensics, Personal Data and Intellectual Property.
  4. Using and Devising a Cybersecurity Planning Guide (CPG) for an Organization. The hands-on experience of a CPG will enable a more effective transfer of learning for the participants.
  5. Application of the CPG using a Case Study.
  6. Articulating the use of Cyber Forensics in the Organization.
  7. Application of Blockchain in Cyber Forensics. Another hands-on experience relevant to benefiting the digital asset management of corporations.

 
Participants shall bring along a laptop (preferably personal laptop) so that relevant software applications can be installed for use during this highly interactive programme.
 
Additional instructions in relation to the preparation of the laptop for the programme will be sent to the participants prior to the course.

1] SkillsFuture Credit (SFC)

All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500 from the government. The credits will not expire and periodic top-ups will be provided by the government. 2] WDA Training Grant - SDF Funding
This course is approved for SDF funding ($2 per training hour) for Company-sponsored participants only (Eligibility criteria apply).

If you wish to enrol participants with SDF Funding, please proceed with the following steps (For Corporate enrolments only) :

  • Step 1: Register for the course online via ISCA Portal. Upon adding to cart, the system will prompt a question “Do you wish to apply for WDA Funding?”, click Yes and input all required information. At the Cart page, please ensure that SDF funding is applied before clicking “Checkout”.
     
  • Step 2: After successful enrolment, please proceed to submit the Training Grant application via SkillsConnect Portal here: https://www.skillsconnect.gov.sg/

 

Employers of company-sponsored participants must submit training grant via SkillsConnect system to obtain training grant for course fees. You may submit the Training Grant application within the period from 30 days before the course start date to 30 days after course start date. Please note that there will be an administrative fee of $42.80 for any revision of invoice.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Company must be registered or incorporated in Singapore and;
  • Applicant is taking the course for the first time.
  • Applicant must be employed, and is either Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore and;
  • Applicant must achieve at least 75% attendance, and pass all examinations /assessments and;
  • Applicant must be fully sponsored by the Company for all costs associated with the training and;
  • Payment has to be made via corporate means (e.g. corporate cheque, corporate GIRO, corporate credit card).

 

3] NTUC Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

UTAP (Union Training Assistance Programme) is an individual skills upgrading account for NTUC members. NTUC member gets to enjoy UTAP funding 50% of the unfunded course fee capped at $250 every year. This excludes miscellaneous fees such as GST and registration fee etc.
 
This course is approved for UTAP support for intakes conducted between 1st April 2020 to 31st March 2021.
 
As UTAP is given on calendar year basis, and calculated based on year of training taken, it cannot be accumulated.

  • Maintained paid-up NTUC membership before course, throughout course duration and at the point of claim and;
  • Course by training provider must be supported under UTAP and training must commence within the supported period and;
  • Unfunded course fee must not be fully sponsored by company or other types of funding
  • Unfunded course fee must be S$20.00 and above, and;
  • Member must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance for each application and sat for all prescribed examination(s), if any and;
  • UTAP application must be made within 6 months after course ends.

Dr Rex Yeap

Dr. Rex Yeap is a Partner of an IP strategy, creation, commercialization firm, where he directs efforts towards the creation & commercialization of novel inventions/patents, and invests in early stage companies. He also a white-hat hacker and has a cyber security & forensic practice specializing in data analysis, examination and act as an expert witness for cyber forensic cases.

Dr. Yeap enjoyed coding since the 80s till today involving copy protection schemes, computer virus autopsy & solutions, petabyte-scale cryptography and blockchain systems. He is part of the Adjunct Faculty at Nanyang Technological University and has extensive lectureship and facilitation experiences for both Masters and Bachelor degrees (1998 – present) in the area of computing and business management.  Dr. Yeap also lectured Cyber Forensics in the Bachelor of Science in Cyber Forensics, Information Security & Management and Management (Murdoch University).
