Programme Objective
 

This is a 2-day workshop that will focus on helping participants understand the various programmes and forms in the ISCA Audit Manual for Standalone Entities (AMSE) and how to effectively make use of the manual to help ensure compliance with the various audit requirements.


 

Programme Outline

 
1. Case studies will be used to illustrate practical application of the AMSE from the following:

  • Initial evaluation of a new client;
  • Audit planning;
  • Execution of the audit;
  • Audit completion;
  • Carry-over of the information; and 
  • Updating of new information into planning for the audit in the following year.
2. Particular emphasis will be on understanding the nature and requirements to effectively complete the programmes and forms in the manual. 

3. We will also discuss some practical challenges that the preparers and reviewers of AMSE may encounter and how to address those challenges.

Participants are to bring their own hard copy of the AMSE for the workshop and perform their documentation on their own copy of AMSE.  The AMSE, in parts or in full, will NOT be distributed to the participants during the workshop. ISCA Audit Manual for Standalone Entities is available for download for all ISCA Members on a complimentary basis.

Alternatively, you may want to bring your laptops to the workshop and work on the electronic copies instead.

Eric has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting, including 13 years with a Big 4 international accounting firm. During this period, Eric has accumulated extensive experience in financial reporting and assurance advisory, audit of public and private entities, engagement quality control, forensic file reviews, audit and financial reporting training and audit practice related risk management matters.

 
Eric is a regular speaker on audit-related seminars with various professional organisations and a part-time lecturer at the Nanyang Technological University, Nanyang Business School. Eric is currently also the independent technical and quality control adviser/reviewer to various public accountants.
