This course is suitable for Public Accountants (i.e. CA Singapore with Certificate for Practice). Upon successful enrolment, no refunds will be entertained.

Programme Objective
The objective of the ISCA Practitioner’s Tech Lab is to provide a platform for Public Accountants to share and discuss technical issues among themselves in a focus group discussion setting moderated by an experienced facilitator, with the aim of improving the quality of audit. Participants will get to exchange views with peers and learn in an informal setting. The ISCA Practitioner’s Tech Lab includes a bite-sized presentation on key areas relating to the topic along with some important insights. It is highly interactive with many opportunities for discussions. Case studies will also be used to reinforce the concepts and demonstrate applications in practice.

To benefit from the ISCA Practitioner’s Tech Lab, participants are encouraged to submit questions relating to the topic to auditquality@isca.org.sg for the facilitator’s preparation prior to the programme.

Programme Outline

FRS 115 is effective for annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2018. By now, your clients should have identified and evaluated the impact of FRS 115 on their businesses and adapted their financial reporting and business processes in response to the requirements of the new revenue standard.
 
In this Tech Lab session, we will discuss the key auditing issues arising from adoption of FRS 115 for companies in certain industries audited by SMPs and how auditors can tackle these issues.

Ng Hock Lee

Mr Ng Hock Lee has more than 18 years of working experience, including more than 10 years of working experience in Big 4 accounting firms, both in Singapore and in United States of America. He has extensive audit and assurance experience in various industries including offshore and marine, energy, manufacturing, retail, transportation and logistics services. He has also been involved in IPO reporting accountants' work, business advisory, fraud investigation and financial due diligence for merger and acquisition transactions.

 
Mr Ng is currently a partner with Baker Tilly TFW LLP. He is a Member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee (AASC) of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. 

 
Mr Ng is a fellow practising member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (FCA (Singapore)) and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He is also an Accredited Tax Practitioner (Income Tax & GST) and holds a US CPA license issued in the United States of America.
