Translation Talent Development Scheme (TTDS)
 

Translation Talent Development Scheme (TTDS) is a co-sponsorship grant that supports full-time Singaporean translation and interpretation practitioners (including freelancers) with at least three years of relevant professional experience to further their capabilities and attain mastery of their skills. The next call of application is expected to be open in April 2021. Interested applicants may obtain more details and download the application form from the Ministry of Communications and Information’s website at https://www.mci.gov.sg/ttds

Programme Objective

This programme aims to improve the participant's Business Mandarin through the review of key words, phrases and special terms of financial accounting in Chinese.

Part One: Accounting Theory — Concepts and Framework

  • Accounting: The basis for decision making
  • Theoretical Framework Underlying Financial Accounting

Part Two: Accounting Information — Recording and Disclosure

  • Accounting Cycle
  • Basic Financial Statements

Part Three: Accounting Elements (Assets) – Recognition and Measurement

  • Current Assets — Cash, Temporary Investments, Receivables
  • Current Assets (Continued) – Inventories
  • Long-term Assets

Part Four: Accounting Elements (Liabilities and Equity) — Recognition and Measurement

  • Current Liabilities
  • Long-term Liabilities
  • Shareholders’ Equity

Part Five: Financial Analysis — Understanding and Application

  • Statement of Cash Flows
  • Financial Statement Analysis

Intended For

A foundation to intermediate level language seminar intended for all Accounting and Finance professionals. Those who are interested to improve on their level of Chinese language competency in Business Mandarin also encouraged to attend.
