Introduction

Economic growth in Singapore has slowed and is not expected to pick up significantly in 2017. Attention is now shifting to charting out longer term growth strategies to build a vibrant and resilient economy, and ensuring that Singapore is ready for the age of disruption and future challenges. 2017 will bring several key developments as Singapore continues to strengthen its reputation as a trusted international financial and business centre. The Committee for the Future Economy is expected to release its highly-anticipated report on restructuring the Singapore economy, which will likely include accountancy services. New developments are expected in ACRA’s Financial Reporting Surveillance Programme, while there will be enhanced mandatory requirements for implementing controls and procedures for anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT).

How familiar are you with the requirements of the new revenue recognition accounting standards? How will Budget 2017 impact you and your business as Singapore positions to deal with tomorrow’s business climate? CPA Australia and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) are pleased to present a series of dinner talks for the first half of 2017. Our experts will share insights on regulatory changes and industry trends to help you improve your business management skills.
