The portfolio of strategic initiatives identified as a result of the strategic planning exercise impacts the success of strategy implementation. Considerations important for selecting indicators, and how they can be used as a feedback system to manage the progress of strategy implementation will be deliberated.
The softer side of effective strategy implementation will be addressed. This includes obstacles to strategy implementation, ineffective practices by organisations, the need for strategic alignment throughout the organization, as well as the importance of systematic organizational learning as strategy is being implemented. In governing for performance, critical implementation capabilities such as strategic visibility and alignment, performance monitoring, collaboration, tracking of initiatives, analytics, dashboards and reports, as well as rapid deployment will be covered.
