Programme Objective

The aim of the 2-part programme is to build the capability of finance professionals, risk managers and risk owners through structured lectures, discussions, practical case studies and assessments.

Part 1: Alignment of Risk with Organisational Strategy & Performance.

Participants would be able to help their organisations identify and address the different types of risks effectively and efficiently in the current unpredictable environment by creating greater flexibility and accuracy in specifying the organisation’s risk reduction needs.
 
These needs are to be aligned with organisation’s risk policy with a targeted organisation-wide risk management programme which includes implementation plan and monitoring strategy.
 
Part 2: Financial Risk Management for Better Decision Making and Enhanced Performance
 
With increasing global concerns of financial risk and slow economic growth, enterprises of all kinds and sizes are in search of robust financial risk management frameworks that satisfy compliance demands, contribute to better decision making and enhanced performance.
 
The purpose of this programme is to equip participants with the necessary skills to assess these financial risks and manage them strategically with the use of latest financial instruments.
 
We will focus on the global concerns and seek to improve processes, valuations, and clear strategies across a range of matters including Market Risk (equity, currency, interest rate and commodity), Credit and Operational Risks Measurement and Management, Funding and Liquidity Risk, Capital Adequacy and Regulatory Requirements, Sovereign and Country Risk.
 
The course is practically oriented, encompassing theoretical developments and their application in a real-world environment. 

Participants are given the flexibility to attempt Part 1 and Part 2 in any sequence within 6 months.

Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and a Certificate of Competency – “ISCA Professional Risk Management” once they have completed the pre-course reading, knowledge check quiz, classroom learning and pass the online assessments.

Roland is currently a full-time risk management practitioner in a healthcare organisation.
He has held key positions for more than 20 years in both the public and private sectors, specializing in enterprise risk, business continuity, credit management and training & development for medium and large corporations of multi-industry environment (with businesses in Asia, India and the Middle East). He is also an active member of several key international, regional and local risk management professional communities.

Roland is an Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) with Disaster Recovery International Institute-USA, a certified trainer with Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) from the Workplace Development Authority of Singapore and a Certified Credit Manager (CCM) from Singapore Association of Credit Management.


Prof Malick SY, PhD (Programme Part 2)

Prof Malick SY is the Managing Director of a financial consulting firm with offices in South East Asia. Specializing in Corporate Consulting and Risk Management, his expertise in these areas is recognized internationally.
