(The programme and assessment is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase)Programme Objective The extensive use of integrated systems storing a gigantic amount of financial and non-financial data is changing the way Internal Auditors carry out their work to add value to stakeholders. Valuable evidence may be staring in the face of the Internal Auditor and yet not be picked up if the Internal Auditor does not know how to mine and connect seemingly unrelated data to make sense out of it. Furthermore, uncertain economic conditions and pressure from competitors have led businesses to constantly look for ways to increase their competitiveness – including expecting Internal Auditors to contribute by analysing data, and providing insights into and foresight over business transactions and processes. A rush to implement data analytics in the IA process often leads to unsuccessful deployment. Instead of reducing their workload, auditors may find themselves having to deal with more exceptions if they did not set their data analysis parameters right. Hence, an organised and paced approach is paramount to ensuring a successful and sustainable implementation of data analytics in IA processes. This e-learning course will demonstrate how data analytics is relevant to the work of Internal Auditors, guide Internal Auditors through key steps in the implementation of data analytics and highlight some common issues for consideration.
