Participants are required to bring their laptop with Excel installed (preferably Office 365—app version, at least Excel 2013) and have access to ChatGPT.


Programme Objective

In today’s rapidly changing financial environment, dynamic financial modelling plays a crucial role in achieving a firm’s optimal financial results. To move from “scorekeeper” role to top management’s strategic partner, one must acquire successful, modern financial modeling techniques.

• Professional principles of financial model construction, including the design of spreadsheets using input cells, cell names and financial functions.
• Using ChatGPT in building financial models for analysis and reporting.

• The following modeling tools of Excel will be examined, including:

  • Financial Functions
  • Scenario Analysis
  • Sensitivity Analysis
  • Optimization Analysis
  • Macros (for repetitive tasks)

Prerequisites
This course is suitable for those who already have an intermediate level knowledge of working with Excel and who want to become familiar with and mastering the Excel tools, formulas and functions necessary for building effective financial models.

1] NTUC Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

NTUC members enjoy 50% *unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year, capped at 50% of unfunded course fees, for courses attended between 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2025.

Dr Lim Thou Tin, DACE
 
Dr Lim Thou Tin is a business graduate with the National University of Singapore. He holds double masters in information systems and knowledge management with further postgraduate qualifications in systems analysis, intelligent systems, marketing, management consulting and training. He has a doctor of business administration from Southern Cross University with current research interests in information systems and business modelling.

His work experience includes working in large Singapore companies to MNCs in senior corporate, IT and project management positions. As a management consultant and practitioner, he has facilitated organizational initiatives/projects over a span of more than 15 years in the region, including Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand.
