Programme Overview
Strategic planning is an important organizational-wide exercise that charts its journey to success in the future. However, many senior executives approach this organizational exercise merely from the viewpoint of their respective divisions.
If you want to make a difference for your Finance division, this programme is for you.
This module takes a practical approach to strategic planning, catering to senior executives from the finance division. As planning is about “changing the mental models that decision makers carry in their heads” (De Geus, 1988), the facilitator will re-orientate participants to the concept of planning and execution, examining a number of best practices and approaches that could be worth adopting. Two approaches to strategy formulation for finance division will also be discussed.
Training Methodology
This course provides participants with an overview of strategic planning, as well as the tools that help them appreciate the complex and dynamic operating landscape.
Using a brief case study with small group discussions, participants will gain insights into the multivariate considerations involved in planning and articulating strategy, as well as how trade-offs can be addressed. Feedback will also be given after group discussions to provide participants with insights from experienced strategic planners who have helped organisations from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors obtain strategic clarity and improve results.
