Programme Objective

According to the widely used data breach reporting website HaveIBeenPwned.com, there are more than 9.5 billion online accounts that have been breached. This is more than the current world’s population of over 7.8 billion people. Chances are, at least one of our online accounts is most probably exposed in the world wide web. 

The course provides learners with a good overview and understanding of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and how it may be applied to the organisations for compliance. Areas covered in this programme include key legislative and regulatory requirements of PDPA and how learners can help ensure compliance and alignment with PDPA. In addition, various aspects relating to a data breach are also covered. This includes the containment of a data breach, to assessing the breach, reporting and evaluation of the incident. With the increasing use of big data and data analytics, topics relating to the data ethics involving data-driven and artificial intelligence systems is also covered.

  • Describe various information technology system vulnerabilities that may cause a data breach
  • Describe a Data Breach Management Framework
  • Create a data breach management plan
  • Explain the data protection audit principles
  • Apply the data protection audit process
  • Explain the Data Protection Trustmark Certification Process
  • Describe the Input-Process-Output from several Artificial Intelligence (AI) Case Studies
  • Describe the data lifecycle with respect to the handling of personal data
  • Categorise AI systems based on a Risk Assessment Model & Decision Matrix


This course is part of the ISCA Compliance Certificate Series. The ISCA Compliance Certificate series is targeted at finance and accountancy professionals who are involved with or are taking on compliance related processes. Participants will be required to complete specific courses across fundamental and intermediate levels to obtain each Certificate.

Please take note of the following admission requirements:

  • Trainings will be conducted on Zoom platform, thus video camera and microphone are compulsory
  • Mandatory for video camera to be turned on throughout the course
  • Display your official name (as per NRIC) in Zoom, to facilitate attendance taking
