Attendees will be taken on a journey through what M&A is about, why it goes about and how it goes about.

This journey will look at the surrounding issues such as the commercial viability, financial, tax and legal aspects including why due diligence is important. This involves the preparation stage, the ongoing stage, and the post-M&A stage as the journey is not over when the M&A deal is concluded.

Attention will also be given to arrangements that can escalate tax exposure and also transfer pricing issues.

On the completion of this course, you will:

  • Have a good understanding of the drivers and rationale of M&A projects
  • Know the important issues surrounding the M&A process including taxation involving personnel matters
  • Be able to identify the key aspects for your company during the whole M&A journey
  • Be able to spot the dangers of an M&A deal potentially leading to increased taxation and transfer pricing exposures.
