Risks associated with auditing mining companies, blockchain developers and investment firm can be effectively managed with a thorough understanding of the technology underpinning cryptocurrencies.

Traditional investment firms, such as BlackRock, ARK Invest, and Fidelity, are submitting applications to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for Bitcoin ETFs. This marks a significant tipping point towards the mass adoption of cryptocurrency.

This program will explore the key components of cryptocurrency and introduce tools that are useful in auditing companies involved in the cryptocurrency sector.

4. Case studies on how to address the following audit assertions when auditing cryptocurrency.

Participants attending your course will come out with more confidence and knowledge in having successful crypto audit.

  • Gaining a basic understanding of how cryptocurrency works
  • Identifying the different players in the cryptocurrency ecosystem

1] NTUC Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

NTUC members enjoy 50% *unfunded course fee support for up to $250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. Leon a Fellow Chartered Accountant, began his career in the audit industry, like many accounting graduates. He has since transitioned to the role of Chief Operating Officer at a web3 investment company. Over his 17 years in the accounting and finance sector, Leon has gained diverse experience, including stints with Big Four audit firms, a listed company, a startup valued at $100 million, and as a CFO in a fintech firm specializing in payments and cryptocurrency investments. He also co-founded an accounting firm that focuses on crypto accounting.
 
Leon’s interest in cryptocurrency was sparked during his tenure as a CFO, where he was tasked with implementing a cryptocurrency payment operating structure. He explored various aspects of DeFi, such as swapping assets, transferring assets to other wallets, and depositing assets in DeFi platforms to earn interest. This experience led him to appreciate the autonomy that cryptocurrency offers, epitomized by the principle that one can truly own an asset without the fear of it being taken away. Leon views cryptocurrency as being in a stage akin to the early days of the internet, signifying its potential for growth and innovation.
