 When it comes to digital assets, there are no dedicated standards that finance professionals can use to determine accounting treatment. This session walks through how we can use existing Financial Reporting Standards to determine how digital tokens should be approached.

The course will tackle the fundamental accounting questions and how they apply to a variety of common situations.
The trainer will lead participants through:
-    The various types of assets – including cryptocurrency, stablecoins and NFTs
-    The functions of digital assets, whether it be trading, used in operations, or other purposes
-    How digital assets may be categorized
-    How to apply the relevant FRS standards to holding of digital assets and issuance of digital assets 

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

-    Identify types of digital assets 
-    Understand how the various types of assets function
-    Apply relevant accounting standards to the types of digital assets 
-    Recognise accounting considerations related to digital assets
